Hello
everyone – we hope you found something fun and creative to do over the
bank holiday and that those of you who joined in the Platinum Jubilee
celebrations all had a super time! If you missed out on the
celebrations, there’s still one more concert coming up this Saturday
afternoon with Denby Dale Ladies Choir at Denby
Dale Pie Hall - complete with afternoon tea!
Scrolling down our newsletter, you’ll find lots more ideas to keep
you creative!
See what
the artists and arts organisations are getting up to at Temporary Contemporary
at the Piazza Shopping Centre in Huddersfield, including Give A Few Words
who are “popping up” there this week, bringing a series of exciting
events including letter writing workshops, arts and crafts, coffee and
chat and more.
Vinyl Tap have
live music in store on Friday afternoon with Hull band ‘Life’, and
celebrating their 70th anniversary in 2020, the Audrey Spencer School of Dance
had to postpone their event until this year and they have a fabulous
Anniversary Show lined up at the LBT this weekend. Also great to
see Huddersfield
Jazz back presenting Snake Davis and Gareth Moulton at
the Smile Bar at Aspley on Sunday afternoon. Just a few ideas for
you!
There are
also some amazing exhibitions
currently on show with more coming soon and there are lots of creative workshops and classes
currently around to join!
Finally,
you will see the Make it Happen Summer School
amongst our opportunities. Ten creatives are being sought to join
Creative Scene, Leeds Arts University and renowned outdoor artists and
producers Periplum for a hands-on course to develop skills in making
outdoor arts events and community co-creation. Please share this
fabulous opportunity with anyone you think might be interested.
Enjoy
your week!
