Bradford crowned
City of Culture 2025.
It's our time!
Bradford has been named the
UK's City of Culture 2025.
The decision was officially
announced by Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries on BBC's The One Show on
Tuesday night. County Durham, Southampton and Wrexham had all been
shortlisted alongside Bradford.
Bradford will follow
Coventry, the current holder, and it is thought it could generate
investment and jobs for our brilliant city as well as showcasing all the
amazing cultural events, activities and people of Bradford.
We would like to say a big
well done to all involved in achieving this status and we look forward to
libraries and the communities we serve being involved in the planning and
creating future exciting events and activities.
