Creative Kirklees
Newsletter 1 March 2022
|
March is the month of the Huddersfield
Literature Festival and to get us warmed up, the
festival is opening their temporary space in the Piazza for a Free Family Preview.
On Saturday 5 March you can call into their Festival Hub to pick up a
programme and enjoy free fun activities for all the family.
The
Creative Arts Hub in Mirfield have opened their latest exhibition - Yorkshire Colourists
– a group of artists living and working in the moorland regions of West
Yorkshire whose work is influenced by the forces and natural landscapes
around them. The Gallery is open Wednesday to Friday 10am – 5pm and
Saturday 12 - 5pm.
Callaloo
have announced they are hosting their first ever Carnival Conference on
Saturday 12 March at Heritage Quay, at Huddersfield University. Featuring
Guest Speakers from across the UK, this event is one of three Regional
Carnival Conferences about Disability, Access and Inclusion.
WOVEN are looking for
workshop facilitators, dancers, musicians, poets, performers as part
of INTERWOVEN and
an evening of live performance at Dewsbury Minster on Friday 6th May.
They’re looking for existing activities or performances, rather than
ideas that need to be developed. Find out more and get in touch by noon
on 7 March.
There’s
lots more to choose from on the website so take a look and find something
creative to do!
