This year marks the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath.
A highlight of the year will be the opportunity to see the iconic document at the National Museum of Scotland Friday 27 March–Sunday 26 April, the first time it has been on public display for 15 years. Don’t miss your chance to see this important piece of Scottish history up close.

Enjoy related events throughout the display. Learn about the history and significance of the declaration at a panel discussion (Friday 27 March) and find out how ancient parchments are repaired and cared for at Preserving Parchment and Seals (Saturday 28 March).

The display is in partnership with National Records of Scotland.

The tyrannosaurs are gathering in Edinburgh! Opening this Thursday 23 January at the National Museum of Scotland, Tyrannosaurs is your chance to meet the most feared and revered of all dinosaurs.

While the most famous member of the tyrannosaur family is the mighty T. rex, tyrannosaurs came in all shapes and sizes, and their history extends over 100 million years. In this exhibition, explore the tyrannosaur family tree and learn how exciting new discoveries are challenging what we know about these ferocious predators.

An exhibition created by the Australian Museum and toured internationally by Flying Fish. Supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
