A rare chance to see a piece of Scottish history This year marks the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath. A highlight of the year will be the opportunity to see the iconic document at the National Museum of Scotland Friday 27 March–Sunday 26 April, the first time it has been on public display for 15 years. Don’t miss your chance to see this important piece of Scottish history up close. Enjoy related events throughout the display. Learn about the history and significance of the declaration at a panel discussion (Friday 27 March) and find out how ancient parchments are repaired and cared for at Preserving Parchment and Seals (Saturday 28 March). WATCH NOW T. rex time lapse How do you assemble a T. rex skeleton? Watch as the cast skeleton of Scotty – one of the largest and most complete T. rex skeletons in the world – is built in our exhibition gallery. Discovered in 1991 in Saskatchewan, Canada, Scotty’s bones suggest he was of an advanced age (about 30 years old) when he died. WATCH NOW More to explore Dinosaur family trail Hungry for more?
