What's On in London?

Bucherer and Rolex Re-Open Flagship Store

Wander around Knightsbridge this weekend. You’ll struggle to miss the recently refurbished flagship boutique of Bucherer 1888 and Rolex, which re-opened two weeks ago at One Hyde Park. An eye-catching façade draws inspiration from the iconic fluted bezel of Rolex watches, featuring metal, opaque gold and translucent glass elements. Inside you’ll find a mixture of warm bronze, walnut wood, streaked limestone and furniture, alongside the iconic Rolex green. This is the first design of its kind in Europe, and the second in the world after Dubai.

Yogarise at Bussey Building

Rooftop yoga is all the rage this summer, because it’s truly a winning combination. The warmth makes you stretch better, your deep yogic breathing will be of fresh air rather than a sweaty yoga studio, light from the sun makes you happier and vitamin D is vitally important for us sun-starved Londoners. And, let’s be honest, the whole set up looks pretty darn great on Instagram. See you on the mat this Saturday and Sunday at South London's Bussey Building, 9:30 - 10:30.

Make it Yourself: Nuno Mendes’s Portuguese Custard Tarts

Looking for a tasty treat to serve up at your next summer garden party? These Portuguese Custard Tarts by executive chef at Chiltern Firehouse, Nuno Mendes will have your guests talking about them for days. Try the recipe this weekend and let us know how they turned out by tagging us on Instagram @countryandtownhouse.

What's On in the UK?

Latitude Festival

The 14th edition of the iconic music festival extravaganza, Latitude, is on this weekend with a rich line-up of huge names. Latitude returned to its home in Suffolk yesterday for 4 days of music, art, family-friendly events, discovery and all-together a magical experience, and there are still day tickets available for Saturday and Sunday.

‘Art in the Aftermath’ by Style for Soldiers

Art in the Aftermath is a unique exhibition showcasing, with a positive stance, the immense strength of some of the women and men who have coped with PTSD and life-changing injuries once coming out of severe violent conflict in Afghanistan. It is presented by Style for Soldiers, started by menswear designer Emma Willis as a response to those who have been medically discharged from the military and some of the challenges they face. Starts Monday

Britain’s Best Farm Shops

Local has become a buzzword in the food sphere in recent years. The benefits are clear: buying and eating local produce is better for both the environment and our tastebuds – and it helps support small businesses. With that in mind, we’ve collated a handful of the best farm shops in the UK, known for selling some of the freshest food around…

Hello New York,
Keep your coins, carbs, and cash in your wallet this weekend because there is plenty to do that won’t cost a thing. We’ve got concerts, lessons, conferences, and parties lined up for you in our life-saving Cost-free Weekend Guide. 💸🎉
Breaststroke, doggy paddle or float! We aren’t telling you how to enjoy the water but we are letting you know the city is offering you cost-free swim lessons to perfect your method. 🏊‍♀️🏊
One small way to validate the voices and feelings of those without homes is to give them a choice. Instead of forcing a meal onto them that may conflict with personal preferences, one organization is making free meatless meals for the homeless available. 🌱🥑
UK band Black Midi is hosting a free concert in NYC after selling out tickets to their show at the Bowery Ballroom. 🎶🎤

Free Weekend Events
This weekend in NYC will be one of the hottest yet both because of temperatures rising and the extraordinary events handpicked for our weekend guide!
We've curated things to do that fit different activity levels, schedules, and interests but above all finances. This guide is full of totally free events that offer music, refreshments, art and more! Find out which concert, festival or show is meant for you.
Public Concert
More concerts? Yes, please. The UK sourced group Black Midi has sold out the Bowery Ballroom and announced they’ll also be providing the public with an additional free show at 314 Canal.
It won’t require tickets, only that you arrive and get ready to enjoy their live performance. They won't be returning to the Big Apple until November.
More Meals for NYC
The organization Chilis On Wheels is serving up 75-100 meals for those who go hungry on NYC streets every week. As if that weren't impressive enough, those meals are plant-based.
The vegan volunteers aren't just making food for those that are homeless but those who simply can't afford a meal. The mobile soup kitchen has been operating strong for 5 years, servicing the East Village and Harlem.
Free Swim Instruction
NYC Parks are offering free swimming lessons! After revamping some pools with colorful decor and paint, they launch a program featuring swim lessons and activities for all age groups.
Those interested can learn more about registration, program details and the locations of the revamped “Cool Pools”.
