Wild and Majestic now open Our landmark summer exhibition, Wild and Majestic: Romantic Visions of Scotland, has opened to rave reviews at the National Museum of Scotland (until 10 November 2019). Featuring beautiful tartan costume, incredible royal stories, spectacular paintings and heroic military histories, the exhibition uncovers how romantic interpretations of the Scottish Highlands and Islands became enduring symbols of wider Scottish identity, from the Romantic movement of the 18th and early 19th centuries to Queen Victoria’s Highland idyll at Balmoral.
