A grandiose
presidential celebration including displays of M1 Abrams tanks, different
weaponry, MV-22 Ospreys and more is garnering a lot of attention from the
press. 🇺🇸🗽
Although fireworks
and bustling crowds might not scare you, small animals and pets are extremely
vulnerable to loud noises and chaos. Thankfully, there are ways to keep
your pets safe during July 4th festivities. 🐶💖
The day is
approaching but no need to panic since there is a ton of opportunity to see

Firework Guide
Celebrating
the 4th of July doesn't have to mean a single BBQ or firework show when you
live in a city offering so much to do! We've got a compact guide to this
year's Independence Day and it includes locations that offer activities
throughout the day as well as more specific events to enjoy.
Have a drink, go
for a swim or eat some BBQ before settling down to watch fireworks by the
waterfronts in NYC.

MTA Service Changes
Although
police are blocking off public spaces like waterfronts, parks, and bridges to
prepare for crowds, people still need to get around! There's sure to be
traffic carriers to guide people on foot and vehicles which will dictate
where those viewing shows will be able to navigate.
More importantly,
there may be entire streets closed. Find out about train and bus schedules,
traffic and closings in this nifty guide to traveling in NYC during the 4th
of July.

Tanks Rolling Deep
In
place of the traditional Smithsonian's celebration of foreign cultures and a
concert on PBS, we're getting a loud and proud display Donald Trump style.
Trump's July 4th celebration is gathering a lot of attention due to its
extravagance and promised features.
Military
servicemen and women are said to be a huge part of the weaponry
demonstrations, including but not limited to air shows. The Blue Angels
demonstration team, normally flying F/A-18’s is said to be participating in
addition to stealth jets. He's also promising the biggest fireworks display
ever seen.

Pet Safety on July Fourth
Fireworks
are extremely beautiful and make for great photos but they're more than just
a pretty sight. Firework shows all around New York City during July 4th are
loud, bright and can interrupt the natural course of action for startled pets
and wildlife.
Not to mention
there are scraps and debris that litter surrounding greenery and waterways if
fireworks aren't deployed wisely. At the least, using this helpful info about
caring for your pets and animals during noisy celebrations can help keep
stress down during the fun and make the night safer.

Coyotes Running Our Parks
Coyotes
have been spotted in the city and with 6 times more reported sightings than
recorded in 2017. Central Park has been the most popular destination for the
furry critters. Witnesses have seen coyotes trotting near Belvedere Castle
and other key landmarks like Poet’s Walk and The Great Hill.
Park-goers have
encountered them in the shrubbery of the landscape and on paths. What brings
them into our parks in such influx and so abruptly? 12 coyote sightings out
of 26 have been in Central Park, while the others were in the Bronx and
Queens. Our best guess is all of the city’s wild beasts enjoy a good green
space!

Stranger Things Carnival
While
we anticipate the return of Stranger Things, we can all enjoy a pop-up
version of the show here in the city. Coney Island will be transforming all
it’s classic rides such as Deno’s Wonder Wheel with mysterious 80’s style to
honor the premiere season 3. Grab your walkman for authenticity or your best
80’s playlist on Apple music and head down to Brooklyn.
The popular sci-fi
series that’s got viewers loving Eggo’s waffles, telekinesis and aliens will
be tangible enough to dive into. Explore the world of Eleven, Mike and the
gang while munching on classic carnival snacks. There’ll also be fireworks at
the end of the night!

Visually Stunning Pool
Pools
are great on their own but when pools are covered in bright and energetic
artwork, it raises the bar! The 5th year of Pop-Up Pool Party has ushered in
a new artistic transformation for the pool at Manhattan Park.
Roosevelt Island's
gem has been bejeweled with geometric shapes in 18 colors thanks to local
artist Elizabeth Sutton. The pool is open to the public for a fee and offers
a unique experience due to the crisp visual art across the deck.
