News
The BBC will deliver an early Christmas
present to locations in the North of England including MediaCityUK this
December with free screenings of its most eagerly-awaited festive TV shows.
Fans of Doctor Who will be able to see the
annual Christmas special before anyone else. This year’s episode will
feature Peter Capaldi as the Doctor for the last time.
The Tomorrow-based company will be
delivering a ‘fintech-first’ promotion for Standard Chartered bank.
This will see the team working alongside
its Singapore head office, to produce an integrated digital campaign,
covering a number of territories.
“This is an incredibly exciting project
for us, which will deliver true innovation in consumer mobile banking,” said Carbon Digital’s co-founder Sue
McHugh.
It’s expected to go live early next year.
BBC Creative has chosen dock10 to support
the creation of promotional content for the BBC at MediaCityUK. Working
closely with the BBC team, dock10’s post production specialists will
provide the high-end finishing, including audio, colouring and VFX
elements, utilising its extensive facilities and media services.

CBBC
Summer Social wins award
The CBBC Summer Social saw over 30,000
people descend on MediaCityUK in July for a fun-filled weekend of
activity, education and immersive content. Dubbed “Glastonbury for kids”,
there were appearances from a whole host of CBBC stars and the opportunity
to get involved with meet and greets, Zorbing and even a petting zoo.
Since the event was such a success, the
team has been presented with the National Outdoor Event Association award
for Production Partnership of the Year. The award recognises “those who
have demonstrated excellence in partnership working in the delivery of an
exceptional event.”

Teepee
opens for Christmas
It’s a sure sign the
festive season is upon us when Dockyard’s spin-off The Lodge opens for
business.
The Lodge will be open
daily from 12 noon until 9pm every day, serving traditional winter warmers
including mulled wine and ciders, liqueur coffees and hot chocolates.

Be on the look-out this December for Mr
Frosty’s nose, which was lost in MediaCityUK earlier this week. If you do
spot it, make sure you return it to Nutri Bar to claim your reward. Nutri

Get ready to don your Santa suit or dust
down your elf outfit for the fantastically festive 5k Jingle Bell Jog set
to take place at MediaCityUK on Sunday, 3rd December at 10.30am.
Runners can bring their own festive
costume to run in, or when entering online
can add a Santa suit to their order. The event, delivered by Sports Tours
International, is open to all ages and abilities.

This year we're asking our community to
support Key 103’s Mission Christmas. All it involves is buying an extra
gift which will be given to a local, disadvantaged child to make their
Christmas morning special. We need new and unwrapped gifts suitable for
