We've got plenty to keep the whole family entertained in the countdown to Christmas. Make your own decorations at our Christmas Crafternoons, (Sat 2 & Sun 3 Dec) or immerse yourself in the festive spirit at our Sounds of the Season (Sun 10 Dec) event, with live music from local choirs and musicians.

The Giant Lanterns of China

For 50 awe-inspiring nights, RZSS Edinburgh Zoo will be home to The Giant Lanterns of China, an installation of over 450 dazzling giant lanterns that will illuminate the Zoo from 1 Dec 2017–25 Feb 2018. A magical trail awaits, where you will discover beautifully crafted lanterns, rich with colour and character. You will see colossal Chinese lanterns, such as the dragon, temple and zodiac signs, alongside over 200 animal themed lanterns including giant pandas, lions and penguins.
