Mik
Artistik @ Seven
No post work plans today? Early evening jazz is a great way to unwind.
Tonight, Thursday
18th January, 7.30pm, Screen Seven
returns in a new monthly slot, opening with the blockbuster and Golden
Globe winner, Oppenheimer.
Christoper Nolan’s stunning biopic follows the American scientist, J.
Robert Oppenheimer, and his role in the development of the atomic bomb.
Door 7pm. £7 advance
or on the door.
On Saturday 20th
January in our 4-6pm
slot, Little Mistakes is
an acoustic trio playing country, folk and bluegrass originals and
covers. These musicians have been active for many years on the Leeds
music scene, playing in a variety of styles in many different bands. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel.
Also, on Saturday 20th
January 8pm, Seven is proud to present Glastonbury
favourite, Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip.
If you’ve never seen one of Mik’s show before, then expect the
unexpected. It’s an incredibly daft, joyful, and sometimes poignant
affair, as Mik tumbles around the stage, whilst the elegant engine room
of Jonny Flockton & Gregg hold down the melodies. Great fun and
great music. £16
advance / £18 on the door.
Big band sounds on Sunday
21st January 1.30-4pm with JazzLeeds – Ancient Infinity
Orchestra. A welcome return for this 14-strong ensemble led

deep from the well of spiritual jazz and is especially inspired by the
soulful sounds of Pharoah Sanders, Alice and John Coltrane.
Doors 1pm, £12/10
concessions. Under 16s free.
To commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day on Wednesday 22nd January, 7pm, Seven
is hosting a screening of The Last Days. This
Oscar-winning documentary, executive produced by Steven Spielberg,
focuses on the plight of five Hungarian Jews who survived imprisonment
in Auschwitz. A Pay
What You Feel event. Organised by Leeds City Council.
JazzLeeds returns on Thursday
25th January 7.30pm with Ronnie Bottomley’s Last
Ever Big Band. Drummer, arranger and author Ronnie Bottomley

life. Doors 7pm,

inoffensive arrangements of their favourite classic songs for piano,
