Well, it’s mid-January and as the old
saying goes ‘as the daylight lengthens, the cold strengthens’, so
let’s see if we can tempt you into being creative during these cold
winter months with some of the activities and opportunities listed in
our newsletter below. We certainly hope so and do check out our website as we just can’t fit everything in here!
Mark your calendars for
Friday 9th February 2024 and get ready for the Creative Summit: “The Rhythm of Life” at Dewsbury
Town Hall! This exciting event brings together creative minds from
various sectors to showcase the Kirklees Year of Music 2023 Health
and Wellbeing programme. Do go along to share and learn about
new and innovative ways of using music to help support wellbeing with
inspiring talks, performances and networking opportunities
The fabulous 2024 Mrs Sunderland Festival is just around the
corner too. The Festival takes place over 11 days (4 February
and 14-24 February) and there are classes and workshops, concerts and
showcases for all ages. The Festival is full of opportunity for
people to perform and full of delight for audience members – be sure
to check it out!
You might also be
interested in Cultures of Creative Health, the place-based
research Festival for 2024 from the School of Arts & Humanities
at the University of Huddersfield. Building on Cultures of
Place, and Cultures of Sound, this new programme includes talks,
collaborative community projects, research presentations and
residencies.
