You don't
need to be familiar with Lidia Yuknavitch's work to benefit from
hearing her speak because she's not only badass but endlessly
fascinating.
Lidia is the
author of the memoir The
Chronology of Water, and the novels Thrust, The Small Backs of
Children, Dora:
A Headcase, and The
Book of Joan. She is also known for the famous TED talk The Beauty of Being A
Misfit and follow up book The Misfit's Manifesto.
She is also
a creative writing tutor and founded the revolutionary workshop
series Corporeal Writing, in which students are encouraged to embrace
a new philosophy of art in which writing not just from the mind but
body.
WHQ's Sarah
Lewis says, "There is simply no one around today writing about
trauma, sex and climate change like Yuknavitch does and there's not
one book of hers that hasn't left me in floods of tears. She's an
inspiring writer and testament to what can be achieved as long as you
don't give up and embrace who you really are. I am somewhat
embarrassingly excited to be interviewing her and it's going to be an
amazing evening."
Got it?
Great! Now go book your place!
