We've got a Bernstein show-stopper for you!
If you love dramatic opera, breathtaking dance and the sounds of Broadway, our Bernstein Double Bill is just the ticket! New to opera? Sign up to our Try it ON membership scheme to get fantastic stalls seats for just £20!
Begin your evening in 1950s suburbia with Trouble in Tahiti where you'll meet Sam and Dinah. Clothed in jazz-infused music influenced by musicals and Hollywood movies, cracks begin to appear in their marriage as the American Dream turns sour in this 50-minute opera. After the interval, dive straight back in with an explosive new dance piece set to iconic music: West Side Story Symphonic Dances. Want a sneak peek into rehearsals? Keep scrolling...
In rehearsal
We stopped by the studio for a first look at West Side Story Symphonic Dances. The brand-new dance piece choreographed by Phoenix Dance Theatre's Artistic Director Dane Hurst is being rehearsed in front of an incredible set painted by graffiti artist Hyro Graff.
A symphonic soundtrack
Bernstein's Symphonic Dances bring West Side Story's dance rhythms to life with a huge percussion section, which includes bongos, cowbell, maracas and a police whistle!
Trouble in Tahiti in a nutshell
Everything you need to know about the one-act opera that opens our Bernstein Double Bill. Find out about the characters, costumes, composer, set, story and music...
Audio-described performance
Sign up to our Access Membership Scheme to book our audio-described performance on Friday 22 October at 7pm. We'll provide a headset for a live description of the visual elements of the production, and there'll be a pre-show touch tour at 5.45pm.

Tickets Now on sale for Green Day’s American Idiot – The Musical
The two-time Tony Award-winning hit musical Green Day’s American Idiot, based on the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album, boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before. This high-octane show includes every song from Green Day’s album American Idiot, as well as several songs from follow-up release, 21st Century Breakdown.
Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. An energy-fueled rock opera, American Idiot, features little dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking album to execute the story line.
