What’s it all about?
The Northern Short Story Festival Academy is a development programme which helps short story writers in Yorkshire to develop their work to the next level. Perhaps you’ve published a few stories already, in print or online, or had stories placed or longlisted in competitions. If you’re serious about short story writing, aged 18+ and are resident in Yorkshire, we want to hear from you!
Participants will join a monthly workshop critique group, from January-June 2022, led by writer Anna Chilvers, where they will read and critique each others’ stories. The workshop group will take place once a month on a Monday evening in Leeds if possible or if not via Zoom.
This is a rare development opportunity for short story writers in our region. Places on the scheme are limited and entry is by application only. Applications are open from now until 30 September 2021.
For information on eligibility, and details of how to apply, please read here.
The Northern Short Story Festival Academy is part of The Northern Short Story Festival and Leeds Big Bookend, and is supported by Arts@Leeds, part of Leeds City Council, and the Walter Swan Trust.
