Creative Kirklees newsletter

With details of upcoming events in Kirklees:

Creative Kirklees Newsletter 21 September 2021

Have you booked your free place at tomorrow evening’s pre-launch event for the Year of Music 2023? If not, there’s still time! Come along and enjoy the street entertainment, performances and live music in the Courtyard at the Lawrence Batley Theatre and find out about the vision for this celebratory year of music and the exciting ways you can get involved. Afterwards the live music continues with an after-party at The Parish with The Lovely Eggs headlining for which tickets are now on sale!

It’s also not too late to get yourself a ticket for the first orchestral concert in the Kirklees Concert Season this coming Thursday (24 Sept). Triumph Over Tragedy has a programme steeped in nostalgia and powerful human emotion and promises to be a superb start to the Season by the Orchestra of Opera North.

And with the return of Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra whose Season launches this Sunday (26 Sept) at Slaithwaite Civic Hall and Huddersfield Music Society’s Concert A Duex Duo on Monday (27 Sept), there’s a great offer this week for classical music lovers.

Lastly, just to mention a couple of great opportunities coming up at the Northern Quarter in Huddersfield who will be holding an outdoor Christmas German Market Fair, and are looking to hear from Huddersfield/Yorkshire-based companies who have something unusual/quirky to sell – they are also looking for acoustic artists to take part in the event - could this be you or do you know anyone who might be interested in these opportunities?

Hope you enjoy our newsletter and find something below that takes your fancy – we’re sure you will!
