Alnwick Castle extended opening

We are delighted to announce that Alnwick Castle will remain open to welcome visitors during the half term holiday, extending the open season a week beyond the intended closing date, to Sunday 1st November.

Once inside the Castle walls you will be free to explore the extensive grounds and impressive outside space of the Inner and Outer Baileys; find out about the history of the Castle, the family who have called it home for over 700 years and the filming that has taken place within the grounds from our new information boards; or take a stroll around the newly opened Capability Walk, taking in the stunning views of the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown landscape.

Additionally, both The Castle Museum and the Constable’s Tower Museum are open, providing a glimpse into the past of this magnificent medieval fortress.  After exploring, you will be able to pay a visit to the Castle gift shop to purchase a souvenir of your day and relax in the Artisans Courtyard with a delicious hot chocolate, part of the range of refreshments and snacks on sale from The Armoury takeaway.

Whilst on site, you will also be able to book onto one of the reinstated Castle activities, joining one of our knowledgeable guides for an exclusive tour of the stunning State Rooms, or being trained in the ancient art of broomstick flying by our resident Wizarding Professors.

Please visit our website for further information on what you can expect from a visit to Alnwick Castle at this time, and to book tickets.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in helping to keep our visitors and staff safe at this difficult time.  Our team are on hand to help if you have any questions, please get in touch via phone on 01665 511 100, email or via our livechat service available on our website.
