Good
morning,
I don’t do this often, but today, I’m turning this space over to a
BookBaby author. She left this amazing review on TrustPilot last
week, and I’m compelled to share it in its entirety:
I’m on my
first self-publishing journey, of what I anticipate to be many
books, both photography/art and prose. I began utilizing a larger
and more well-known company, but had a terrible experience. With
them, there was an almost impossible learning curve, zero customer
support (the few times I did reach anyone they were unfriendly and
detached, and almost always did not have answers, and it was via a
cumbersome chat with extended wait periods), and the product was an
incredible disappointment. They took the view that it is all the
customers fault.
When they said
self-publish they meant that you could trial and error it to death,
and don’t bother them with questions. If the product was messed up,
it was your fault. Yet… they sent me a book with pages already
falling out. Ugh. Needless to say, I said goodbye to that company.
THEN, I found
BookBaby. As a newbie, I had to make quite a few calls with
questions. Guess what? They picked up the phone every time and were
incredibly friendly and patient. I felt like a true, appreciated
client rather than someone who was bothering them. And the product
is OUTSTANDING. The quality was light years ahead of the more
established entity—shamefully better. I’m still in my journey and
so far I’m sticking with them because customer service and quality
of product is huge.
And here’s my favorite part:
When people
receive my book, I want to be proud of it and enjoy the process.
BookBaby has given me that, and I’m so grateful for their services,
their patience, their quality, and friendliness. Great job! —Elie
