Kath Davies from Kirklees Council on Public Art. Kath will be discussing
the on-going initiatives in Kirklees, such as HeART Your Town, Woven in
Kirklees, Garden Stories and an exciting new longer-term public art scheme for
Dewsbury – and how local artists can get involved.

Kath will be in conversation with Creative Scene’s Arts Producer Gaynor Seville. Gaynor was Public Art Officer for the City of Salford, leading on the Irwell Sculpture trail and a series of innovative socially engaged commissions before moving to Ireland to lead on the Public Art Programme for County Mayo. Gaynor developed a range of projects and approaches to commissioning including professional development initiatives for artists, training bursaries, pop up projects and award-winning schemes involving residencies, performance and permanent and temporary outcomes.
