Here are few ideas of things to do this weekend for those of my followers who live in, near to or are visiting Leeds, Bradford and New York:
|
Music All Weekend @ Seven
We know these are nervous times, but
Seven is committed to putting on great live events in a safe way as
long as we are able to do so. This weekend the emphasis is on music,
with gigs that are sure to lighten the mood in this rather gloomy
autumn.
Tonight, Friday 16
October, 6-8pm, is Scott
Wainwright, the Barnsley blues man. With a liberal
sprinkling of northern contrariness, Scott has an energetic, humorous
and eclectic take on blues, folk and gospel, which he himself describes
as ‘Rural Underground Music’. “Captivating” – Northern Sky Magazine.
Organised by MEWL
Music. A PWYF event.
Tomorrow, Saturday 17
October, 5-7pm, look forward to King & I,
Leeds-based band playing jazz standards/easy listening with a great
vocalist leading a lively band. A mix of different styles with a jazz
tinge from Latin to ska, to swing and blues, and tunes from different
eras. Organised by
MEWL Music. A PWYF event.
Please give generously
to PWYF events, so that we can continue to support musicisns in these
difficult times.
And on Sunday 18
October, 1.30-3.30pm, JazzLeeds presents “Catimba” Latin Jazz
with Raquel Alvaro, Vincente Margueles piano, Andy Leggett bass and
Brendan Bache drums. Advance
tickets only, £10 / £8.
This weekend's pop up is Little Red Eats.
The grill truck, serving gourmet burgers and fries, is the perfect
accompaniment to live music or just to enjoy with a pint of Prava.
Truck will be here Friday
16 October 5-8pm, Saturday 17 October 12-8pm and Sunday 18 October
12-5pm.
All our events are
fully distanced with table service. Please respect staff wishes if they
ask you to move - this will only be for the safety of customers. Venue
numbers limited to 40.
Seven is following
Government Guidance, so apologies for any short-notice changes in the
programme.
We look forward to
seeing you at Seven very soon. Every £ spent at Seven helps support
high quality arts in a local setting.
