Holiday Recovery

Spice things up with music, theatrical performances, food, and retail therapy. We've rounded up comedy shows, temporary pop-up shops, and concerts that will help you loosen up after the holidays.
Make this weekend special by trying something new like going on a holiday light tour. Get your tickets as soon as you can to ensure your spot and find out more information on each event listing.

Christmas Tree Graveyard

Families have selected gorgeous pine trees for their holiday decor but once the new year arrives, where does the tree end up? Instead of crowding sidewalks, corners, and dumpsters with large green trees, the city has proposed something else.
Mulchfest will claim the carcasses of Christmas trees that are no longer needed and keep streets clear. Find out how you can dispose of your own tree or help someone you know transport their own bright green tree.

Giveaways

Everything you need for a perfect dinner party with family and friends.
Prizes include a Williams Sonoma Signature Thermo-Clad™ Stainless-Steel Ultimate Pan ($200 value), a $250 gift box of artisanal foods for your dinner party from Barnraiser, a $250 gift card to Kuhn Rikon for kitchen tools and cookware, and $200 cash for dinner party supplies from Clean Plates!

Green Is for Go

The City Council has decided to give bicyclists a head start in crowded NYC streets. During commutes across intersections with Leading Pedestrian Intervals, bikers can cross before cars.
The new rule means that bikers will look to pedestrian signals to prompt movement instead of normal traffic lights. Council members are hoping to save bicyclists from vehicular accidents with the extra time.

Exploring Brooklyn

The whole of New York City may be a bit overwhelming if you're not sure where to go. Thanks to this cool round up, you can dive in Brooklyn first.
