We are excited to confirm that the York Literature Festival returns next year, running from Friday 15th to Saturday 30th March. The programming is currently underway so please keep your eyes on our website and social media for further information.

SAVE THE DATE: York Literature Festival presents Diarmaid MacCulloch
York Literature Festival has just confirmed an exciting event with renowned historian Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch, taking place on the evening of Friday 14th December. Diarmaid will be in conversation with Dr Angela Ranson regarding his new book Thomas Cromwell: A Life. Details regarding tickets will be revealed soon so make sure you save the date and watch out for more information.

Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival | 18 – 21 October 2018
The Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, picked by Harper’s Bazaar as one of the UK’s Best Literary Festivals, has become the hot ticket on the national Festival circuit thanks to its stellar line-up of literary names in beautifully intimate settings. Hosted over a long weekend and now in its eighth year, the Festival celebrates great writing by bringing best-selling authors, influential politicians, comedians and stars of the stage to share their stories with a programme designed to entertain and inspire. This year’s line-up features John Simpson, Dr Jane Hawking and Gill Sims (of Peter and Jane fame), alongside Nick Hewer, David Starkey, Isabel HardmanHenry Cole, Julie Summers, Robin Ince, Conn Iggulden and many more. Don’t miss a Yorkshire Post Literary Lunch to remember as Alan Johnson shares the soundtrack to his life, as well as a sparkling evening celebrating wine with the greatest taster of his – or any - generation, Oz ClarkeThere will also be a special recording of the BBC Radio 4 Round Britain Quiz.

Northern Fiction Alliance Roadshow
Wednesday 24 October | 6pm - 8pm 
The Northern Fiction Alliance is an exciting collective of publishers joining together to showcase publishing in the North of England. Manchester’s Comma Press and The York Centre for Writing at York St John University are delighted to host the first #NorthernFictionAlliance Roadshow in Yorkshire, following the sell-out success of the inaugural Roadshow event in Manchester last year. This event will see the members of the Alliance – some of the most innovative and exciting indies in the UK – showcasing their work. Come along to hear from some of the most interesting writers and publishers currently working in the UK.
