Let
us take you back to the 1980s with a screening of this cult classic… plus the
chance to go behind-the-scenes of our 130 year old library as the evening
creeps in to recreate the film’s famous opening, with surprises and mysterious
old books around every corner.
Join us at 5.30pm and get terrified “beyond the capacity for rational thought” with our ghost-busting experience and licensed bar – which will include cans of Tiny Rebel’s Ghostbusters-themed beer: the classic Stay Puft Marshmallow Porter (limited availability).
80s
fancy dress encouraged! Ages 12+
Also coming up in the magnificent setting of
the Local and Family History Library is:
Sea Fever: An Evening of Sea Shanties
and Storytelling
Thursday 25 October
Doors: 5.30pm
Performance: 6.15pm
Following
his sold out ghost story performance last year, storyteller Matthew Bellwood is
back bringing to life a raft of tales inspired by the sea - featuring
cross-dressing cabin boys, giant sea serpents, underwater tunnels and mermaids
aplenty.
Pirate and explorer books dating back to the 17th Century
will be on display for you to discover the history behind the legends and a bar
will be available on the night.
We really hope you can join us for these and please have
a look through our brochure online or
pick up a copy at your local library as there are so many great events
happening across the city over the next few months.
