Not sure how to spend your weekend? Here are a few ideas for those of my followers that live in or near to Leeds, London and New York (oh, and don't forget that if you are in the U.K., the clocks go back on Sunday):
WIN a
6-course tasting menu, a night of escape game antics and tech talks or a
smokin' dinner at FireLake...

The city is constantly changing around
us, with new buildings going up, new roads being laid and new
developments opening their doors, but what's in the pipeline right
now? We look at the big changes coming soon to Leeds.

For one night only, Harvey Nichols'
Fourth Floor Brasserie will serve an exquisite 6-course tasting menu,
paired with 4 festive cocktails. Go on, splash out and treat yourself to
a night of refined food, with dishes like Spiced Butternut Squash
Mousse with Savoury Granola, coupled with a classic Mai Tai.

For anyone who's interested in tech,
this is the competition for you. Round up your mates for a night of
escape game antics, with a pint of craft beer and a chance to find out
how to get into the tech industry.
|
|
Two weeks ago, we let you in on seven
new additions coming soon to Leeds and now we have four more
to add to the list. There's a new restaurant from a fine dining
institution, a big change for a Horsforth favourite and an on-the-go
Asian food outlet moving up north.

|
Three prizes in one, this is your chance
to see Bus2Move from a new angle, with a private tour from artist Simeon
Barclay. We'll even throw in a festive afternoon tea and an exclusive
beer tasting.

|
Smokin' American eats with a Yorkshire
twist, that's what you'll find on FireLake's new menu. From their
famous scotch duck egg to the Yorkshire rib eye steak and the
bourbon-laced pork belly with hush puppies, this is what you could be
eating if you win our latest competition. Get stuck in...
|
|

|
Next month is going to be a biggie.
You've got the Christmas light switch on, the return of the Christmas
market and all the glorious fireside antics of Thor's Tipi, but that's
just the beginning. Expect sensational shows, live gigs and
family-friendly days out...
|
|
Think you've got what it takes to make
it in the tech industry? Find out at this unmissable event. Not only will
you take on one of the city's best escape rooms, but you can also learn
more about the tech industry with talks from local experts.
|
|
|
A night of exceptional food awaits at
Harvey Nichols' chef's tasting experience. You can tuck into 6 courses
with 4 perfectly paired cocktails – and we'll even give you a Christmas
hamper to take home at the end of the night. It's almost too good to be
true.

Hello
New Yorkers,
Once praised as
the jolliest place on earth, Anthony Bourdain’s shout out to Jollibee holds a
lot of weight. Check out the chain Jollibee
and why what they’re cooking up gets so much praise.🍲📸🎉
It’s sweet, savory
and it’s nutty, everything you need to fill up on during a cold afternoon.
Here’s a simple and comforting recipe for a killer Pad
Thai. 🍲🍴😍
Electronic vibes
are what helps Chip
Skylark shine amongst others in the rap genre. The rising Crown Heights
musician is quickly generating a very unique fan base that appreciates such a
sound. 🎶😍🎤
It’s alive!
Frankenstein, the classic figure of nightmares, cinema and art is taking
center stage again. This
exhibit stars Frankenstein in all of its horrific glory.🕸🖼😱

New York Faces
There
are certain class courses students dread, but others that change their lives
forever.
For Emma, studying
“Food Art as Body Politics” inspired her to create food installations for
museums and art exhibits.
Orlow is an accomplished writer (NY Mag's Grub Street, Saveur, Vice MUNCHIES,
Tasting Table, HyperAllergic), a public programs producer, and an artist
working with food
The hard work paid off, eventually landing her on Brooklyn Magazine's 30
under 30 list.

spoiled Sounds
Chip
Skylark might sound familiar as the pop singer with the beautiful teeth from
Fairly Odd Parents.
This Chip Skylark is a rapper out of Crown Heights distorting the genre’s
current sound trap and vibe sounds.
A fan of the
Matrix, Skylark brings sci-fi into his music that makes you feel like your
listening to music in another dimension.
He and his group EWC are definitely trying to shake up NYC’s entire view.

Haunted Art
Halloween
is fast approaching, so the Morgan Library and Museum has exhibited a show
featuring one of the scariest monsters we know, Frankenstein.
Celebrating Mary Shelley’s undead creature after 200 hundred years, the
exhibit has amassed art from an overwhelming amount of sources.
Comic books, film
memorabilia, posters, and inspired artworks. The show explores how
Frankenstein came to be such a household name and how his popularity has
fueled many other horror-themed classics. The show also dives into Shelley’s inspiration
for her novel still, a must read.

Short Story Selection
Set
in the steampunk world of New York’s sixth borough Lytton, moving pictures
and advanced machines have started to worry the commonplace residents.
Two young inventors try to find their way in this seemingly British version
of New York.
This story questions both the nature of machines as well as the nature of the
self. How do humans create machines with minds, and why does it keep
occurring?
