Friday 20 October, 7.30pm,
South Asian Arts UK
presents Sarod: Indian Lute ft Debasmita Bhattacharya.
Bhattacharya is creating shockwaves across musical circles in her native
India and beyond with her remarkable talent on the sarod. She is joined
on the tabla by Rayatt, with blistering dynamism and a flair for
sumptuous rhythmic balance. £12

Carnival Chronicles on
Saturday 21 October
7.30pm, is SOLD OUT, but there is much to enjoy over the
coming week. On Sunday 22
October, 1.30-4pm, JazzLeeds
presents Dominic J Marshall Trio, three friends who originally
met in Leeds but have all now developed international careers. Dominic is
based in Amsterdam and his music travels through jazz, classical,
hip-hop, soul, folk and everything in between. £10 / £8 conc (NUS £5). In the
bar at 8pm, is the ever-popular Sunday Quiz. Not

On Monday
23 October 8pm, the Screen Seven offering is La La Land. Seb
meets Mia, stuck behind her car in this same traffic jam. They are
destined to meet again and are drawn together by their common desire to
do what they love. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions
that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair. Stars Ryan
Gosling and Emma Stone. A film sure to transport far away from

The Café Psychologique topic
on Tuesday 24 October,
8pm, is Wellbeing: Myth or Real
Possiblity?, introduced by Joshua Malkin, from Network of
Wellbeing. This café will explore whether it is just a myth used to
sell products, or actually something realistically achievable. Hosted by
Jacinta Kent. £4

On Wednesday 25
October, 8pm, it is Kill For A Seat Comedy
with Ian Coppinger and Evelyn Mok. Ian Coppinger, Star and
Co-writer of RTE’s “Couched” & Evelyn Mok, “One to watch”

JazzLeeds on Thursday
26 October, 7.45pm, presents Stan Tracey Legacy Octet.
Tracey’s career spanned six decades of flourishing creativity. He was a
highly influential and stimulating musical voice to his peers and each
successive generation of musicians with whom he worked. This evening
celebrates his music, led by his son Clark & Steve Melling at the
piano. £20 / £18 conc.

On Friday 27 October,
7.30pm, look forward to 3 or 4 for 1 or 2. A
collaboration between Wildgoose Theatre and Script Yorkshire (York Branch)
bringing you three or four brand spanking new short plays for one or two
actors. Guaranteed to be a varied evening of drama. £8 adv /£10 otd.
Rounding off the week on Saturday
28 October, 8pm, is Charanga del Norte with
an EP launch of Charanga Time to showcase their new New York-styled
charanga set. Expect pachanga, bugalu, and New York infused Afro-Cuban
dance music styles by the likes of Charlie and Eddie Palmieri, Johnny
Pacheco, and Pete Rodríguez. £12
