Quercus has pre-empted The Flatshare, a début novel by Penguin Random House Children's editor Beth O'Leary.
 
 
 
 

 

HarperFiction has pre-empted an "arresting" début entitled The Furies, and a second title, in a six-figure deal within 18 hours of submission.
 
 
 
 

 

Pan Macmillan will publish two books by TV presenter Louis Theroux, the first of which is a "professional memoir" of his time with disgraced children's entertainer Jimmy Savile.
 
 
 
 

 

Octopus imprint Cassell is to publish a feminist series by Zing Tsjeng, UK editor of VICE.com's women's interest channel Broadly, uncovering the lost "herstories" of women "who have refused over thousands of years to accept the hand they had been dealt", according to the publisher.
