In January, the New Orleans Writers' Residency will offer a small group of writers a four week writing retreat in a restored 19th-century shotgun-double apartment. The London Magazine is looking for unpublished short stories, maximum 2,500 words, from writers across the world for its Short Story Competition. For its seventh print issue, Metonym is seeking poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, photography, and art about the human experience. Thoughtful Dog publishes literary fiction and nonfiction. The Gomma Photography Grant is tailored to fund and support photographers, both emerging and established, working in various genres. First prize in each category for the Woven Tale Press Art and Literary Competitions will receive a one-week creative retreat in the Hamptons of Long Island, NY. Tahoma Literary Review seeks flash, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for an upcoming issue. They also offer feedback and critique services. Arcturus is accepting fiction and poetry for its fall writing contests. The Graywolf Press Africa Prize, to be awarded for a first novel manuscript by an African author primarily residing in Africa, will include a $12,000 advance and publication.
