BIRKENSHAW CHRISTMAS GALA

We went to this yesterday with our good friend Sarah and her two boys Matthew and Harry and although I am not sure there were enough lights to call it a 'switch-on,' we all had a great time.  It was lovely to spend time with Sarah and the boys, who I am sure have grown loads since I last saw them, and they seemed to like the home-made Christmas pudding we had for tea (even despite Marcus burning the brandy sauce!).  Really looking forward to seeing them all on Wednesday when we meet up to see Arthur Christmas at the cinema - the silver lining to the teachers Christmas shopping (oh, I mean striking) day.
