| Camelot: The Moor - A Reading |
|
| | |
What would you do to build the perfect world? What would you give up? Who would you betray?
For 10 years, across theatre and film, Slung Low have created a unique saga. The story of a young woman, who calls herself Bear, and the new nation she built. Bear, who said she saw visions. Who said to go forward we must go back. Who led a revolution and changed the world. This is how the story ends.
Slung Low and Leeds People’s Theatre present a special rehearsed reading of a new people’s theatre play Camelot: The Moor, written by James Phillips. The play takes place in the world first created in Camelot: The Shining City, which premiered at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield in 2015. Together with members of Leeds People’s Theatre we transferred from stage to screen with The Good Book (2020) and The Magician (2023).
Join us this month to hear a company of Leeds People’s Theatre members and guest artists perform a script-in-hand reading of this epic new play at our Warehouse in Holbeck. To be part of the audience please book tickets below.
For those interested in getting involved in Leeds People’s Theatre we will soon be announcing new workshops and masterclasses for adults of all ages. Please get in touch with morven@slunglow.org for more details.

| Introduction to Performance Skills Workshops |
|
| •16th & 23rd September • 6-8pm |
|
| |
Together with Leeds People’s Theatre, we have an exciting opportunity for adults (18+) to develop skills and confidence in performance. Further to some sessions we held earlier this summer, we are delighted to be back in September for the final two workshops in this current programme, where we welcome adults of all ages and backgrounds to explore different performance techniques covering movement, vocal skills, text work and character development. You can sign up for one or both workshops, but as places are limited, please only sign up for sessions you’re confident you’ll be able to attend. These sessions will be held by our very own Morven Macbeth, a highly experience actor and theatre-maker (and all round good egg)!
Plus we have more workshops and masterclasses coming up in the autumn, so look out for more details about these soon!
What: Introduction to Performance Skills Workshops When: Wednesday 16th September 6pm-8pm & Wednesday 23rd September 6pm-8pm Where: The Warehouse in Holbeck, Crosby Street, Holbeck, Leeds LS11 9RQ |
