March brings a fantastic line-up of trailblazing artists and performers, from the electrifying fusion of classical and electronic music with Manchester Collective to the powerful sounds of two of the UK’s top brass bands. Join us for an exciting month of live classical music!
We are also deeply saddened by the passing of Simon Lindley, former Leeds City Organist and a dear friend and colleague of Leeds International Concert Season for over 30 years. You can read our full tribute to Simon on our website and social media.

Manchester Collective: Serenity 2.0
Manchester Collective and DJ Nabihah Iqbal provide a nervous system reset in Serenity 2.0, the latest show from the sought-after chamber ensemble. Nabihah performs the world premiere of her first classical commission What Psyche Felt, alongside music by VESSEL, Bryce Dessner, Dobinka Tabakova, and Ben Nobuto's titular Serenity 2.0 - a frenzy of strings, percussion, and vocal samples from YouTubers and Japanese pop.

Brighouse & Rastrick Band
Formed over 140 years ago, Brighouse & Rastrick Band is regarded by many as the best and most consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world. The band is known for its famous 1977 hit parade success, The Floral Dance, and recently qualified to compete in the National Championship of Great Britain.

Benjamin Grosvenor
Benjamin Grosvenor brings a sublime programme of romantic piano music to close this season's International Piano Series, pairing Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann alongside one of the blockbusters of the virtuoso piano repertoire, Modest Mussorgsky’s ever-popular Pictures at an Exhibition.

CAERUS Chamber Ensemble
CAERUS Chamber Ensemble takes us on the most epic journey of them all – Athens to Bucharest. Exploring the amazing diversity of rhythm, colourful dances, and powerful story-telling music that the Balkans have to offer, CAERUS performs music by Nikos Skalkottas, Béla Bartók, Iannis Xenakis and George Enescu.

Rothwell Temperance Band
Rothwell Temperance Band is Leeds’ highest ranked brass band and has cemented itself as one of the finest ensembles in the competitive county of Yorkshire. Formed in the 1980s, the current band has risen through the ranks under experienced Musical Director David Roberts, earning numerous prestigious accolades along the way.

Manchester Camerata: New Connections
Set sail on a thrilling orchestral adventure with Manchester Camerata as the adventurous orchestra joins forces with students from Leeds Conservatoire, Hugh Gaitskell Primary and Cockburn High School for an exciting musical journey. Featuring music from The Planets, Pirates of the Caribbean and How to Train Your Dragon, alongside new student-created works, this family-friendly concert is the perfect introduction to live orchestral music.

Lunchtime music in Leeds

Lunchtime Organ Music
The final few Lunchtime Organ Music concerts of the season take place this month, featuring City Organist Darius Battiwalla (10 March & 31 March), a selection of outstanding young performers studying on the Royal College of Organists education programme (17 March), and Rachel Mahon, Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral (pictured, 24 March).

Lunchtime Chamber Music
Concerts continue with the multi-award winning piano trio Trio Casella from Guildhall School of Music & Drama (pictured, 12 March), a rare chance to hear music for flute and bassoon by Duo Auloi (19 March), and Gramophone Magazine’s One to Watch - violinist Hana Chang partners with pianist Alison Rhind to perform wildly contrasting sonatas by Claude Debussy and Ludwig van Beethoven (26 March).

Amiri Harewood
Harrogate Music Festival Young Musician and winner of the Dorothy Parkinson Memorial Award for Young British Artists 2024, Amiri Harewood returns to Harrogate by popular demand. Currently studying at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Danny Driver, Amiri performs music by JS Bach, Johannes Brahms, Dmitri Shostakovich and more as part of Harrogate International Sunday Series.

Black Dyke Festival
Join the world-famous Black Dyke Band for a gala concert to round off the band's 2025 festival. The programme includes popular favourites Carnival Romain, Call of the Cossacks and Nightingale Dances. Black Dyke Band be joined by hundreds of brass band musicians for a grand performance of the finale from Camille Saint-Saëns’ spectacular Organ Symphony.
