THE DEBORAH ROGERS FOUNDATION WRITERS AWARD
Oh hello 10K prize! £10,000 will be presented to a first-time writer whose submission demonstrates outstanding literary talent and who needs financial support to complete their work. The winner of the 2025 Shooter Poetry Competition will receive £150, publication in the S/S issue and on the website, plus promotion on Shooter’s social media. NINTH LETTER The theme for the next issue of this award-winning literary journal is “reversal”. They welcome reversals big and small, tragic or fortunate, long coming or sudden and they'll be on the lookout for reversals of structure and form. Authors whose work is selected for this web issue will be offered payment of $25 per poem or $75 per piece of prose, plus an exclusive discount for a one-year print subscription. This is an independent fantasy fiction magazine and they want your stories. Their upcoming theme is 'Making the Choice' and they are open to fiction and non fiction. For middle-grade aim for 2,500-5,000 words, YA aim for 2,500-10,000, and for General Fantasy it's a hard limit of 13,000. They pay $0.05 per word for finished pieces!

HAVEN SPEC
Haven Spec is a speculative fiction magazine featuring stories for a 21st century audience. They love stories with a sense of adventure, stories that teach us, touch us, and leave us wanting more. They publish six issues every year, two of which (the DRY Issue and the WET Issue) are focused exclusively on the climate crisis and themes of displacement. They are currently open to fiction of up to 6,000 words and up to five poems per submission. They pay 8¢ per word for original fiction and $20 per poem.

TIGER BARK PRESSAs part of Tiger Bark Press's ongoing commitment to printing quality poetry by a diversity of voices, the press will hold an 'open reading period throughout the month of March 2025, for full-length book manuscripts by poets who identify as Black, as indigenous, or as people of color.' Their hope is 'to fall in love with, and publish, at least one book as a result of this reading period, and perhaps more.
