We are proud to announce the University of Bradford's programme of events as part of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.
As a key partner of Bradford 2025, we’ve been actively contributing to this exciting year. In February, we hosted the BBC Young Reporter Festival, which brought together over 5,000 people to explore careers in the creative industries. Through our Community Researchers Programme, we’re training local residents to evaluate City of Culture events.
Our Students’ Union held Culture Fest in the Richmond Atrium, a vibrant celebration of different nationalities, and earlier this month, Theatre in the Mill sold out all five performances of its in-house production, Teaspoon of Shampoo. From using artificial intelligence (AI) to judge boxing matches to exploring Bradford City fans’ stories through virtual reality (VR), tackling climate change, and addressing topics like death, we’re inviting you to explore our stories in innovative and unexpected ways. As part of this exciting programme, alumni are also invited to take the opportunity to reconnect on campus. Read on to find out how you can arrange a class reunion alongside the Stories from Valley Parade event in June.
Best wishes, Alumni Team |

 | Fight or Byte: Can AI transform the boxing world? Date: Tuesday 8 April Time: 18:00 - 20:00 Location: Unique Fitness Sports Centre, Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1PP
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere: it is helping us write social media posts, it is creating our music and tv playlists, it was recently a fourth judge in a boxing match, and we’re identifying previously unidentified ways it can be used.
Staged in a boxing ring, join Tasif Khan, British super flyweight professional boxer, Dr Kamran Mahroof, Programme leader for MSc Applied AI and Data Analytics, along with other boxing pundits to debate the role of AI in sport. The panel will analyse some of the most controversial decisions in boxing, before asking you whether you think AI should be the fourth judge and other problems AI could solve during sports decisions. |
