With thanks to Lucy Brighton for her wonderfully honest review of Christmas Evie:
March 14, 2025
A self-proclaimed dating disaster, Evie’s love life takes a confusing turn when she discovers she’s been dating not one, but two Italian twins—at the same time! As if juggling two very different men wasn’t enough, a series of misunderstandings and mistaken identities threaten to make her already chaotic life even more complicated.
The story kicks off when Evie agrees to go on a date with one of her friend’s brothers, setting off a chain of events that intertwines with Nathaniel, the broodingly handsome guy working at the local tearooms. But things quickly get more tangled when Nathaniel, in a well-meaning but disastrous move, tells his family he’ll be bringing a girl to Capri for Christmas—without mentioning he has a twin. Meanwhile, Evie’s got her own holiday pressures to deal with, especially the looming “King Clause,” which states she must be married by Christmas. Throw in mistaken identity, an unexpected love triangle, and plenty of humour, and you’ve got a recipe for a truly fun read.
What truly makes this book stand out is the witty writing and the lovable, relatable characters. Evie is the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for—she’s a bit of a mess, but in the most endearing way. Her heart is in the right place, and despite all the confusion swirling around her, you’ll be hoping she finds her happy ending.
