Treats @ Seven
This week the focus is definitely on
music, including latin jazz, Irish roots, folk-rock, country & bluegrass,
flamenco cabaret, with a touch of Broadway thrown in, starting this
evening Wednesday 18th
September, 6-7.15pm with Rush Hour Jazz – Rose Perry
and Raquel Alvaro.
Continuing JazzLeeds' latin jazz theme for September, Leeds based
Portuguese vocalist Raquel Alvaro sings accompanied by Rose Perry on
sax. Seven bar. Pay

Also this evening Wednesday
18th September, 8pm, slightly off tempo, Cafe Scientifique
returns with the subject of Concrete.
Professor Phil Purnell of University of Leeds discusses the beauty of
this wonder material and also the issues in its use. Seven venue. Hat donations.
On Friday 20th
September 6-7pm, as a taster for the Tim O’Connor gig,
organised by Irish Arts Foundation, there will be an hour’s Traditional Irish Music
in Seven Bar. Free.
At 7.30pm Mewl Music – Tim O’Connor
and Friends presents an evening of quality electric folk and
acoustic roots music.Tim is joined by some wonderful musicians,
including Irish flute player, Paul Daly; York based keyboard player,
Charlie Daykin; and acclaimed Manchester guitarist/ mandolinist David Thom.

Autumn Sessions
continue on Saturday
21st September 4-6pm, with the very popular Little Mistakes.
This acoustic trio plays country, folk and bluegrass originals and
covers. They combine subtle and atmospheric musicianship with the
sophisticated song writing of Adam Wolstenholme and Louise Starks. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel.
Also on Saturday 21st
September, Flamenco de Leeds – El
Desborde. A musical show featuring two dancers, a singer,
and a guitarist pays tribute to the women of flamenco and delves into
the world of cabaret, singing cafés, and exhibitionism from a
contemporary perspective. It draws inspiration from the women who have
contributed to this art form throughout history. Seven Venue. £23. Doors open
7pm.
On Sunday 22nd
September, 7.30pm, Little Known Musicals –
Masterclass Showcase. Show Ready’s beloved Performing
Through Song master classes are making a triumphant return for 2024,
this year diving into the captivating world of lesser-known and
underappreciated musicals. These hidden gems might not have graced the
bright lights of Broadway or the West End, but they hold a special
place in our hearts. Seven

Also, Sunday 22nd
September, 7.30pm, get ready to test you knowledge at the Seven Quiz in a
relaxed atmosphere – a great way to end the weekend with friends and
family. Seven Bar. £5
