West Side Story

Wakefield Youth Music Theatre return to the stage with the smash hit musical West Side Story.

Jam packed with vibrant songs and dance routines including America, Tonight, Maria and I Feel Pretty, West Side Story is still an audience favourite after more than six decades.

Set in 1950’s New York, this new production features dazzling costumes alongside flawless musical arrangements.

A Message From Our Development Team

By now you may have heard about the brilliant achievements of Darren Johnson during Ruby Rhubarb's Full House challenge, in which £700 was raised to support our work with local communities.

Thank you to everyone who donated and, of course, Ruby, for dashing around the Theatre to so sit on every chair under serious time pressure, with two costume changes thrown in, too!

Sticking on a frock and a vibrant pink wig isn't the only way to fundraise for the Theatre, although we admit that is a pretty good way. There are endless ways to get involved and we're here to help however we can.

Feeling inspired?

Could you take on a sponsored challenge, bring colleagues together for a coffee morning or get creative to raise money for the Theatre? Are you unsure where to start on your fundraising journey? Don't worry, we can support you.

Raise vital funds for the Theatre  with our support – visit the website to find out how you could get involved with raising vital funds for the theatre!

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Theatre Royal Wakefield.

We thank you for your continued support.

FOREVER EDINBURGH

What’s happening in Edinburgh in July 2022

Jazz & blues music, heritage & art exhibitions, food festivals – not to mention a giraffe trail – however you like your entertainment, July in Edinburgh has an action-packed programme of events for all the family to explore and enjoy.

What’s on in Edinburgh this month

Two of Edinburgh’s world-renowned festivals take place this month – attracting major international jazz & blues names as well as up-and-coming artists, visitors to Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival will be able to enjoy a wide range of styles, from 1920s traditional jazz to electronic blues. Celebrating its 18th anniversary, this year’s Edinburgh Art Festival’s exciting and eclectic programme includes 35 exhibitions across the city, including a special programme of newly commissioned artworks that respond to historic sites in the city.

Get into nature and discover more about the architecture, heritage & nature of the magnificent Dalkeith Country Park during their Historic Country Park Tours, or take part in Giraffe About Town. Comprising 40 eight-foot-tall giraffes located all the way from Edinburgh Airport to Leith, can you find them all?

A new music festival comes to Edinburgh this month. Taking place in the popular neighbourhood of Stockbridge, Over the Bridge has a star-studded line-up. Or if sampling the very best of Scottish food & drink is more to your liking, then don’t miss Edinburgh Food Festival.

From the art of Leonardo da Vinci to the Burke and Hare murders, explore 500 years of medical history and exploration in the National Museum of Scotland’s new exhibition, Anatomy: A Matter of Death and Life. While it’s the last few days to enjoy the stunningly detailed and immersive exhibition, Van Gogh Alive – The Experience.
