Idle Women Caretakers event, Dance to Celebrate our Past, Present and Future, Brent, Friday 29 July

We are delighted to invite women to join a special event in Brent, West London as part of the artistic cultural programme celebrating the UEFA Women's EURO 2022 football championship.

On Harlesden’s much loved community football pitch, all women are invited to dance to celebrate our past, present and future.

Friday 29 July, 6-9pm

Created in collaboration with with community activators, truth keepers, visionaries, and innovators to create a space for Womxn to get together in great company and dance, rain or shine.
Celebration, great food and music from London's finest revival reggae DJ Texas Ranger playing all genres of vintage Black music from the 50s, 60s, 70s & beyond and performance created by Brent based Sujata Banerjee Dance Company.

Tickets are free - booking in advance is essential

Stadium for the Future is a project by Idle Women co-created with Zerritha Brown, Jemima Sam-Russel, Diane Shrouder Johnson, Sujata Banjeree, Brent Council and  Canal & River Trust as part of the arts and heritage programme celebrating the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022.

The programme is made possible thanks to National Lottery Players with funding through Arts Council England.

The arts and heritage programme for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 will feature a line-up of arts, heritage projects and musical events that celebrate and explore the rich history of the women’s game. Stadium for the Future is one of several new commissions by women artists which will be presented throughout the programme including an immersive artwork for all ages by visual artist Emma Smith; a new anthem by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra led by celebrated conductor Shirley Thompson OBE; and a new creative resource for libraries by interdisciplinary artist Deborah Goatley-Birch.

 

Idle Women is an arts, environment and social justice collaboration that creates spaces with women that can't be cut, closed or taken away.
