sessions for young children aged 5 and under, has begun across
Kent.
Led by a team of brilliant artists and musicians,
you and your child will go on a gentle sensory journey, and gain
confidence and enthusiasm for creative play.

Escape2Make

Lancaster and Morecambe
Free
The youth led charity Escape2Make are offering all
11–18-year-olds free creative workshops this summer. There will
be a mix of activities including woodwork DIY, land art,
textiles, green filmmaking, creative writing, upcycled band,
printmaking, graphic design, and the opportunity to make your own
bike! The workshops will run throughout the summer and culminate
at Lancaster's Green Festival at Scotch Quarry on Saturday 27
August.

From the Future
Read Now Write Now
Now – 2 September
Liverpool
Free
Aimed at 7–11-year-olds and taking place in local
libraries across Liverpool city, Read Now Write Now will be
running fun, creative and inspirational workshops about life in
the future! Postcards from the Future will get young
people's creative juices flowing as they write notes to
their future selves, thinking about new technology and a whole
new universe!

Nature Nurtures is an opportunity for young people
to get involved with nature conservation across the capital
through creativity. Through the #VolunteeringFuturesFund project, young people aged 16-25 will be able to
attend nature-themed photography and drawing workshops, and take
part in youth leadership and volunteer management training.

Upon a Tune
Lake District Summer Music Festival

Lake District

The Lake District Summer Music Festival will host
artist James Mayhew’s family event which will bring five amazing
stories to life through classical music and his magical
illustration over two days. On the second day, Matthew will
be running an art workshop for children where they’ll bring music
to life through pictures and painting. The festival takes
place from 29 July to 7 August, this event runs 31 July and 1
August.

Celebration of Biodiversity
Insecta Collective

A celebration of biodiversity will immerse the
community in the wonders of flora and fauna through visual
art. It will feature a range of family arts workshops across
Leicester and Leicestershire during August and an online
biodiversity arts hub aiming to foster emotional connections with
nature to promote social and environmental change at a local
level.

With a mixture of free and ticketed events, this
family-friendly festival will be using visual arts, circus,
theatre, dance, film, storytelling, spoken word, music and more
to explore place and belonging. The festival brings together
community groups, artists, independent venues, outdoor spaces,
and individuals showcasing a programme of workshops, shows and
events.

Summer Sizzle
Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation

Free
CYTO's Summer Sizzle is a free two-week theatre
project for young people aged 8-19. Divided into three age
groups, young people will devise a play with the support of a
director and playwright, as well as receive mentoring in
lighting, sound, set design, costume, and more. It's completely
free for young people to get involved and will finish with
performances on Saturday 20 August.
