Creative Kirklees newsletter

 With details of upcoming events:

Creative Kirklees Newsletter 12 July 2022

Welcome to our newsletter everyone, and as the beautiful weather continues, we have some great ideas for fun and creative things to do outdoors but you will also find lots of things happening indoors if you want to keep a little cooler.  Here are just a few highlighted in the text but scroll down for some fabulous ideas of what you can get up to.  And don’t forget to check our website for even more!

You might want to head to Greenhead Park this weekend (Saturday 16 July and Sunday 17 July 2022) for the Greenhead Gathering where you will find lots of FREE family events.  Celebrate the rich heritage and culture of the Caribbean and South Asian communities – enjoy the live bands and join the ultimate sing-along (karaoke like you’ve never seen it before)!

Huddersfield High Street Action Zone are hosting the first performance of a brand new song about Huddersfield - local professional musicians have been working with children at Castle Hill School to develop the song 'Round Here' – be the first to listen to it at the world premiere on Friday evening (15 July) at Brian Jackson House.

Not for this week, but coming soon, there are two fabulous outdoor theatre performances coming to Oakwell Hall – War of the Worlds (22 July) and Romeo and Juliet (18 August) – what a lovely way to spend a summer’s evening!

Finally, the fabulous Sangam Festival returns on the 18 July for one month, until 17 August, with events and activities held online and in venues and outdoor locations across Kirklees, this Festival celebrates South Asian arts, culture and heritage and brings people together to enjoy heritage and multi-arts events in a spirit of celebration, positivity and harmony!
