New operas and more
music as our doors reopen…
With
five new productions and an eclectic
programme of live music in the Howard Assembly
Room, we
can't wait to welcome you back into our
transformed home following the Music Works
building project.
We
open our season this October with a new
production of Carmen,
Bizet's fiery and passionate story of
desire and obsession, followed by an
exhilarating Bernstein double
bill of opera and
dance in collaboration with Phoenix
Dance Theatre.
Handel’s
enchanting Alcina
takes to the stage next winter, then a
fatal vendetta sees Rigoletto’s
world come crashing down in Verdi’s
powerful opera. Carmen
also returns giving you another chance
to see one of the world's most popular
of operas, before we finish the year
with a concert staging of Wagner's epic
Parsifal.
Today
we also launch the final push to raise
the £18 million target for Music Works,
with Making Music
offering audiences a chance to become
part of a new installation in our home.
This
will be our most accessible
season to date and
we hope to see you, our wonderful
audiences, very soon!

|
It’s not long until
we reopen our doors! We’re excited to welcome visitors back to our
museums from Monday 26 April.
In addition to our world-class collections, we have lots to explore at
our museums this spring. See over 30 LEGO® models at Brick Wonders at the
National Museum of Flight or take part in one of our museum trails,
including the brand new Willow Sculpture Trail at the National Museum of
Rural Life.
To give you the best possible experience, onsite safety measures
remain in place at our museums to ensure that we can manage numbers and
maintain physical distancing throughout your visit. Spaces with a high
number of interactive displays and high-touch areas are temporarily
closed for your safety. Check our website to see what’s open and for
other information to help plan your visit.
If you’re not ready or able to visit us in person then we are continuing
to bring you online content to enjoy from home, including digital events
and blogs revealing stories from across our collections.

Say
hello to the GREAT outdoors
|
The Sperrins – a
heather-clad moorland in the wilds of county Tyrone, is a
particular paradise for walkers, but is also known for its mystical
mix of stargazing and history. Go back in time to the bronze age
with the megalithic Beaghmore Stones Circle, and soak up
spectacular stargazing in this designated Dark Sky area.
We look forward to welcoming you, when we can travel again.
