Hello
New Yorkers,
Thanks for tuning
in to our newsletter after attending a huge dinner party last night and
recovering from the festivities all morning.
No matter what,
life goes on and post Thanksgiving sales are the first thing to celebrate.
The sales and the crowds are hefty. Luckily, there’s a
guide for what you should be avoiding while you shop. 💵⚖📰
If you’re looking
to have a toast this season, like the other festive New Yorkers in the
spirit, look no further than the Santa
Bars. Pop up bars are returning to the city offering holiday inspired
décor and a drink menu! 🍷🍾🎄
If you need
something bordering the realms of light, fresh and creamy after a big
decadent dinner, try a salad. We aren’t talking you into eating a bowl of
boring greens but instead trying this pistachio
and butter dressed salad from restaurant Wildair. 🥗😋🎉
Please return for
our next issue because we appreciate your support. Stay warm and have a great
evening!

Short Story Selection
It’s
Valentine’s day in NYC, 1938. The Chrysler Building has been waiting on the
same corner for a while now, and none of the buildings seem to have noticed
her enough to talk to her.
The story
personifies some of the most famous buildings in New York, all in some
hilarious ways.
What is
essentially a story about finding love in this great big city, becomes more
by adding just the right characters and some elements of fun.

Holiday Art
The
Met continues a longstanding holiday tradition with the presentation of its
Christmas tree, a favorite of both New Yorkers and visitors from around the
world.
The twenty-foot
blue spruce looms over a vivid eighteenth-century Neapolitan Nativity scene,
enshrined in an abundant array of life-like figures with silk-robed angels
hovering above.
The tree showcases
the Met’s collection of Neapolitan Baroque angels and crèche figures; ones
that have thrilled visitors from across the country each Christmas season for
more than 50 years.

Hello
New Yorkers,
Today is serving
us chilly city weather, we hope the seasonal flu hasn't got you
down.
Starting off the
season with a toast may be the right move, but are you willing to throw down $150 on a cocktail at this new rooftop bar?
People now have an opportunity to cozy up on the scenic Williamsburg water
tower rooftop for drinks and memories. 🏙🍹
If you'd rather be
not hitting up the bar so soon into the season, how about baking your share
of bourbon into dessert?
This recipe for
the classic pecan
pie has some edge to it and a generous rich bourbon flavor. The texture
and flavor create a rich finished product fit for young and mature
palettes. 🥧🍯🍾
Watching the
parade at home is very tempting, as the temperature is projected to drop! The
winter chill and the forecast warns of the coldest
temperature on Thanksgiving in 117 years. Prepare to pull up on the scene
for dazzling festivities with a scarf, hat, and gloves. 😳😁⛄️

Short Story Selection
The
Roman Empire was one of the largest in history, spanning across multiple
continents and various peoples. A flourishing empire, they conquered lands
completely by force.
In Drake’s amazing
short story, Taranis and his men are searching for help to make a move
against the Romans.
Taranis finds a
cave with a secret prisoner who he believes can help. He does not, however,
realize who this mysterious girl truly is.

spoiled Sounds
A
German pop group formed in Brooklyn, Haerts got their start in 2011 and
released their first EP in 2013.
This started a
snowball effect and they just kept rolling, and you’ve probably heard their
music in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.
Lively and full of
joy, their pop tunes bring a smile to your face as soon as they start. Slow
paced with great vocals, their music is hard to not enjoy.
And their music
videos are just as cute.

Phylida Barlow's Art
For
50 years artist Phyllida Barlow has been creating both large installations
and small sculptures from random objects.
She layers them,
sticks them together and creates visually intriguing “mini-architecture.”
The Hauser &
Wirth Gallery in Chelsea presents both her small and large objects together
for the first time. Vibrant colors and crazy angles, this show is one that
does not come around often.
Titled ‘tilt,’ the
objects occupy their own space and are meant to be studied individually even
though they occupy the space.
