Lots More Still to Come at Ilkley Literature Festival 2018

Antony Joseph is joined by Roger Robinson to share the story of iconic calypsonian Lord Kitchener, Frances Welch looks at how meetings between the British and Russian royal families had far-reaching consequences and in Sorrel and Black Cake we take a look at how Leeds marked the 70th anniversary of the arrival of Windrush.

Special Offer: Buy Your Dan Snow Tickets Today and Pre-Order The Book for £10

Dan Snow will be joining us on 23 November at Bradford Grammar School to talk about his latest book On This Day In History, where he brings to life a key historical event that happened from each day of the year.

On which day was history's shortest war waged and won (in roughly 40 minutes)?
How was Napoleon bested by a group of rabbits in 1807?
Why did a dispute about beer in an Oxford pub lead to over 100 deaths and 470 years of penance?
Why in 1752 did Britain go to bed on the 2nd September and wake
up on the 14th?
How did a women's march in 1917 set off the Russian Revolution?

In this book Dan Snow shows us how each day offers a different and unexpected insight into our past and, story by gripping story, this builds into a vivid, very human history of the world.

You can now book your tickets for this event and pre-order a copy of On This Day for just £10 (£14.99 RRP). Books will be available to collect on the night.
