Dear
Reader,
|
‘I am a lobster,’ is not a
phrase you expect to hear often, but coming from the mouth of
British contemporary artist Philip Colbert, I’ll go with it. I spent time with him
this week in his soul-enriching East London studio having a full
lobster immersion (watch this space: we’re working on a very exciting
cover collaboration).
The crustacean has, of course, been used symbolically – or
otherwise – in art since almost-time immemorial, but Philip has
taken the icon and made it his own, creating a whole universe
around it. His pop-like art and sculpture are instantly recognisable,
fun, energetic and scream for attention, yet when you understand
it within the context of the history of art, it takes on a whole
new meaning – and you’re hooked. Catch his latest exhibition
at the Saatchi Gallery,
opening on 29 November.

Have a great week.

How
To Hit Your Reading Goals
|
I agonise over my reading habits: once so
healthy, now dwindling on the vine except when I’m on holiday. But
habits can improve so here are seven tips to help you
get your reading groove on.

Honey
Help
|
That jar you have in your cupboard is probably
not what you believe it to be. Honey is so often sold as a superfood
but, according to a recent survey, 90 percent of honey jars from UK
retailers fail authenticity tests. We tell you how to
spot the fakes.

Have
You Done The Winter Arc Challenge?
|
No, me neither. It is though a 90-day
self-improvement initiative
that focuses on personal growth, health and fitness during the last
three months of the year – when we’re apt to spend more time on the
sofa, eating panettone and generally being less active. Up for it?
