Cleckheaton Writers Group (CWG) met on Monday 5 June at Cleckheaton Library with Barbara, Gemma, Karen, Kathy and Michelle in attendance, Alice, Cassie and Reuben having passed on their apologies.
The minutes from the previous meeting were passed and a representative of Friends of Cleckheaton Library passed on a code to get tickets for Bradford Literature Festival for £1 or free (see below).
WIP updates: Karen has been organising a Literature Festival for her work, editing and has had a new picture book idea which she brought along to share the beginnings of. Kathy has been working on a short piece of writing. Michelle has had guitar lessons and taking part in couch to 5k. Gemma has been editing. Barbara has been writing a longer short story which has the possibility of a four-part serial.

Kathy will be working on her Tobias MS. Michelle will be writing a dribble/drabble. Gemma will be editing. Barbara will be working on her four-part serial.
Feedback session: Kathy shared a short piece she had written on modern society that members felt was philosophising, real and profound. Karen shared her picture book idea which was well received. Barbara shared the first part of her serial idea entitled Valletta finds her feet and members were left with questions and wanting to hear more.
Writing challenge: JUNE Ocean week/Gun violence month
Next meeting: Will be at Cleckheaton Library on Monday 19 June 5.30pm (held in the small room at the front next to the computer terminals whilst building work is carried out).
