The second of our Summer Saturdays 4-6pm on Saturday 24th June, features four-piece folk band, Spinning Wheel. Seven Courtyard PWYF. On Friday 30th June 7.30pm, look forward to the return of Tim & Simon, two affable middle-aged music-lovers whose usp is that they devise inoffensive arrangements of their favourite classic songs for piano, guitar and two passable voices. Pink Peg Slax is the band for Summer Saturday on 1st July 4-6pm. this anarchic original rockabilly trio was beloved by the late John Peel. They’ve been bopping since 1980! Also on Saturday 1st July, Leeds Flamenco Festival 2023 Opening Night Flamenco de Leeds – Rebeca Ortega Flamenco with guitarist, Ramon Ruiz and singer, Natalia Marin .  Doors 7pm. £20. The Festival continues with Flamenco de Leeds – Jose del Tomate on Friday 7th July and Saturday 8th July with Flamenco de Leeds – Community Day Performances On Sunday 2nd July 1.30-4pm, the JazzLeeds – Nicki Allan Quintet will definitely pack an exhilarating and mighty punch with a selection of original songs and driving new arrangements. £12 / £10 conc. Jazz again on Wednesday 5th July, 6-7.15pm Rush Hour Jazz – Jon Taylor. Saxophonist, flautist, vocalist, Jon aims to keep it ‘interesting, stimulating and create a little bit of joy!’ Also, on Wednesday 5th July 7.30pm  Murder Inc. – A Bug’s Death. News What's On Creative Directory Opportunities   Creative Kirklees Latest Events, News & Opportunities   Wednesday, June 21st Here in our newsletter are just a selection of all the wonderful things going on on our doorstep – please do visit our website to see many more! We’re delighted to see ‘Summer in the Courtyard’ returning to the Lawrence Batley Theatre, bringing a variety of live music from local musicians and other special events to their outdoor stage throughout the summer. Festival Season is in full flow with the return of Deighton Carnival this Saturday (24 June). Then there’s Huddersfield Carnival and Livefields both coming up on 8 July with the Sangam Mela on 9 July, and not forgetting the Woven in Kirklees Festival which is running until 9 July. Concert on the Hill is also back at Salendine Nook on 1 July and The Great Get Together is also back this week with a host of events taking place around the area. You might also be interested to know about Tongue Fu, one of the UK’s leading spoken word and music shows coming to Dewsbury Town Hall on 7 July. Writers and storytellers take to the stage to perform live, amplified by the quick-witted improvisers of the Tongue Fu band.  Finally, do you own a classic open-top/open-back vehicle or interesting vehicle fitted with a roof-rack or able to carry an unusual passenger?
