In two weeks York Literature Festival
will be underway. It's time to book your tickets so you don't
miss out!

York Literature Festival is returning in March 2023,
with a range of events across the city from Saturday 11th to Monday
27th March 2023.
The full programme is now available for you to consider and can be
found on our website where
you can also download an online copy of the brochure.
Our What's On
page contains all the relevant links to tickets for each
event.
Music
Memoir Day
On Saturday 18th March, we will be taking over The Crescent
Community Venue for an afternoon of events celebrating music. Come
and see soul legend P.P. Arnold discussing her
life, career and book Soul
Survivor. This is followed by music journalist Lucy O'Brien who will be
discussing her new book Lead
Sister: The Story of Karen Carpenter. Both events are
available separately or as a combi ticket offer for £20.
St Peter's School Events
We are delighted to be hosting an event with the broadcasting
legend David
Dimbleby on Tuesday 21st March at St
Peter's School. Other events at this amazing venue include the
historian Peter Frankopan discussing
his new book The
Earth Transformed (16th March), and Tessa
Dunlop on
her new royal biography Elizabeth
and Philip (18th March). Political evaluation comes
from Steve Richards and Sebastian Payne for their books The Prime
Ministers (17th March) and The Fall of Boris Johnson (25th
March). Arthur Snell will reveal How
Britain Broke the World (24th
March) and Sarah Hart will reveal the connections between
mathematics and literature in an event focused on her book Once Upon a Prime (22nd
March).
Other Events
We have exciting author events with fiction
writers Julia Armfield (11th
March), Saima Mir (14th
March), Juno Dawson (16th March)
and Hannah Kaner (21st
March), as
well as a panel on Writing the Uncanny
(25th March), featuring Lucie McKnight Hardy.
We are hosting poetry events to celebrate the launch
of the new collection from Hannah
Davies (18th March) and a panel of poets will
be performing at Open Mind,
Open Mic (11th March), an event where you have
the opportunity to perform your own work alongside Leo Boix, Shash
Trevett, Janine Bradbury and Oz Hardwick. We also have a day
of children's activities and a host of other events. Tickets
are selling fast for some events so please do not miss out.
