VOLUNTEER
WITH US
There are a variety of opportunities for you to join
our team
We’re planning a whole host of exciting events for our Open Space
70 project in 2023 - and we’ll need your help to make these happen.
Whether it's stewarding or delivering flyers, to donating a space
for us to hold an event - our work isn't possible without you.
Our Open Space 70 project focuses on climate emergency,
biodiversity and the environment. Starting in Spring 2023,
Calderdale residents will be working with environmental experts and
professional artists to create artwork for a festival weekend,
taking place in and around Hebden Bridge on 13-16 July.
We work across multi-artforms, including visual arts, performing
arts, literature / spoken word, photography and outdoor arts.
There are six types of volunteering opportunity offering you the
chance to learn new skills, meet like-minded people, and support
us:
- Workshop Volunteer
- Marketing Assistant
- Media Assistant
- Office Assistant
- Venue ‘Host’ -
Donate Your Space for an Event
- Event Steward

LISA
GRAHAM
Introducing our Volunteer Coordinator
"Hello everyone. I’m Lisa, and my role at
Hebden Bridge Arts is the Volunteer Coordinator.
I joined Hebden Bridge Arts as a volunteer in 2015 with the aim
of meeting people when I moved to the area. During my time as a
volunteer, I became passionate about getting more involved with
this charity. I liked the team, and I enjoyed working in an arts
organisation. And so, I have become a more permanent fixture
doing a job I love.
The best thing about my job is getting people involved.
Volunteers are vitally important to our work and projects.
If you like teamwork, have a passion for the arts, want to meet
new people, build your confidence, learn new skills, and most
importantly have fun – then volunteer".

WHAT IS IT
LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?
Nicky tells us what it's like to support Hebden
Bridge Arts
Have you ever wondered what it's like to volunteer?
Nicky tells us what she enjoys about volunteering, how she fits
volunteering into her life, and gives some advice to anyone
thinking about giving it a go:
"Once I put on the volunteer t-shirt, I am the ‘go to’
person, which I enjoy. It’s great being in and amongst the
community and being able to help. It’s good fun”.

Choosing to
volunteer could be one of the best decisions you make, for
yourself and others. By giving your time, and doing
something that's of benefit to others, you can build your
confidence, learn new skills, and make the most of skills you
already have, all whilst meeting new people and enjoying new
experiences.
We can't wait to hear from you.
Bundle up and stay warm everyone.
From Rebekah, Alison, Lisa and the trustee team
