A whisker away

With only two weeks to go, Imagine Children's Festival is almost here!

You and the little ones can join in the fun this February half-term with delightful dance performances, inspiring art, interactive workshops, talks from your favourite authors, comedy shows and musical adventures for ages 0 – 11. Plus over 50% of the festival is completely free.

This year the entire festival is Relaxed, meaning all performances having a relaxed approach to noise and movement, and you're free to enter and exit as you like. You also have access to a chill-out space and noise-cancelling headphones.

Tap your trotters

Tales from Acorn Wood

WED 8 – FRI 10 FEB

Packed with toe-tapping songs, puppetry and all the friends from Acorn Wood, this family show is based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved stories.

Poor old Fox has lost his socks! Are they in the kitchen or inside the clock? And Rat-a-tat-tat! Who’s that keeping tired Rabbit awake?

You can also join in with Pig and Hen’s game of hide-and-seek and discover the special surprise Postman Bear is planning for his friends. For ages 1 – 6

BSL performances: Thu 9 Feb, 11am & Fri 10 Feb, 4.30pm

Tumble into a tale full of fight, passion and longing with Carol Ann Duffy’s family-friendly dance-theatre retelling of Rapunzel, presented by balletLORENT. For ages 5 – 11

A joyful, kaleidoscopic family show about change, why change happens – and how we can deal with it. For ages 6 – 11

Find out how hurtling asteroids, huge lava fields and even some unexpected garden inhabitants have nearly wiped life from our planet with the TV scientist. This talk accompanies Garrod’s Extinct book series. For ages 6+

Conjure up your very own knight characters in an interactive event with the creators of the Knight Sir Louis book series, and the Circle Square series on Channel 5. For ages 7+

In collaboration with acclaimed street artist STIK, families are invited to our pop-up gallery to create their own version of STIK’s open edition print, STAMP. Suitable for all ages

Party on with the current Guinness World Record holder for the world's youngest club DJ at a free daytime rave for the whole family. Suitable for all ages

Lunchbox Jukebox

SAT 11 – FRI 17 FEB

Every lunchtime we’re handing over the reins to you and asking for your favourite tunes to soundtrack the snacking.

Add your favourite songs to our Lunchbox Jukebox Playlist – we'll be displaying the names of contributors on a screen in The Clore Ballroom, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall.

Please suggest music that is family-friendly, and we'll do our best to play all the songs that are chosen throughout the week. Suitable for all ages

BSL interpretation: Sun 12 and Fri 17 Feb.
