MAGICAL MUSIC
AT THE HOLBECK

Saturday 10th December at 6pm

The places and stories of our past, both imaginary and real, hold a curious power over us.

Boundary-pushing music ensemble Manchester Collective is back at The Holbeck with this adventurous programme for string orchestra. At the heart of it is a new commission by Oliver Leith – the voice of a new generation of British composers. “Deadpan, subversive and quietly anarchic” (BBC Radio 3), Oliver’s music seamlessly crosses the boundary between contemporary classical and electronic worlds.

Fanny Fougerat
Marin Fins Bois

Marin 2011 is a Hors-Série (special issue or limited edition) Cognac by auteur producer Fanny Fougerat, who specialises in innovative new ideas for Cognac.

For this Marin 2011, two casks were specially made with staves which were seasoned at an oyster farm on the island of Ré off the French coast near La Rochelle, soaking up sea spray for a year before being made into casks. A 2011 vintage Fougerat cognac from the Fins Bois appellation was then re-racked into the casks to finish for just 13 days - plenty of time for the Cognac to pick up a delicious coastal, saline edge.

Hello

It’s the start of another week, and you know what that means… another weekly dose of everything Square Chapel, events and beyond!

Christmas really is here at Square Chapel as this week Big Wooden Horse & Brighton Dome are sprinkling some family festive magic as ‘The Night Before Christmas’ show heads to Square Chapel, with relaxed performances included! Friday Night Live is back this week featuring a trifecta of talented, local artists that we insist you come to check out!

We’re bringing the cheer into the New Year with a superb line-up of comedians who will be bringing their stand-up tour to Square Chapel.

Firstly we want to thank everyone who turned up to celebrate our 250th Anniversary!
