Friday Night Live @ Square Chapel: Stone Sister,
Twin II, The Incident
Friday 9th December
A triple threat of a line-up of talent just for you
in our Copper Auditorium
Stone Sister –
Emerging from West Yorkshire, Stone Sister has a unique sound of
flowing melodies and grunge textures. Singer songwriter and lead
guitarist Sam Hillier fronts the band . Slamming on bass David
Wright keeps a dark underbelly to the sound. Leeds native and
skilled drummer John gives impressive rhythms. Raw and emotive,
this band conjures both savage and sultry feelings, and depicts a
true image of the North.
Twin II’s –
storytelling styles are explorational yet complimentary, floating
between immersive and emotive vocabulary, as well as
tongue-and-cheek humour.
Performing live with a SP404 sampler, Twin II creates a
captivating and unique live performance for each audience, not
only performing the tracks, but providing depth into the stories
themselves, and allowing the audience to connect with the artist
as well as the lyrics.
The
Incident – is a 17 year old songwriter from
Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, who has recently been discovered
by the Princes Trust! He is currently working on new material and
is being mentored under the watchful eye of cult singer
songwriter Liam Frost.

The Night Before Christmas
10 - 23 December
Relaxed Performances - 10 -16 December
Square Chapel is delighted to welcome a festive
show for all the family this Christmas.
Big Wooden Horse Theatre and Brighton Dome present
‘The Night Before Christmas’
On the night before Christmas, Emily stares out of
the window, hugs her teddy and waits excitedly for the morning,
while in the corner a little mouse called Eddie can’t understand
why only humans are allowed to get presents. So he sets off in
search of Father Christmas to find out for himself. Along the way
he dodges the family cat, gets directions from a cowardly robot
and is given some unexpected advice from the magical fairy on top
of the tree.
Will Eddie get an answer? Will Emily get her wish?
And what is that funny-shaped present sitting under the tree?
The Night Before Christmas is the latest production
from Big Wooden Horse, creators of the hit shows Don’t Let the
Pigeon Drive the Bus!, The Way Back Home, Monstersaurus and
Aliens Love Underpants.
Great for families with children aged 3-7, and
perfect for school groups as a Christmas treat.
Running time: 50 mins | Doors Open 30 mins before
listed performance time.
The relaxed performance of the show aims to support
children, young people and adults with autism, communication
difficulties, other learning disabilities and those with English
as a second language.
The
show lasts 50 minutes. There will be no actual break in the show,
but the doors will be left open and you can go out of the
auditorium if you wish.

Zoe Lyons Thursday 9th February
Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple
of years by having what can best be described as a monumental
midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief
marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really
didn’t end well. Along the way her hair decided the best thing to
do was abandon ship. It ain’t easy being a middle aged woman: try
doing it with a combover.
Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny
side of all these twists and turns. It’s time to sell the silly
car and try and put the wheels back on her life. Zoe is the host
of BBC2’s Lightning. She’s known as a star of Live at the Apollo
and a regular on Have I Got News for You (BBC1), QI (BBC2), and
Mock the Week (BBC2). Other credits include Celebrity Antiques
Road Trip (BBC2), Stand Up and Deliver (C4), House of Games
(BBC2).
Zoe is an immediately recognisable voice on Radio 4
as a regular on The News Quiz, Just a Minute, The Unbelievable
Truth and The Now Show, and also co hosts Frank Skinner’s show on
Absolute Radio.
★★★★★ Funny Women “A masterclass of how
to write, construct, and perform an Edinburgh show, or any show
in fact.”

Carl Hutchinson – Watch Till The End
Friday 12th May
Hutchinson is back with a brand new show for 2023.
After a mammoth 87 date run in 2022, Carl capitalised and got
right to work to produce his best show yet. If you’ve seen the
Geordie in action before you know exactly what type of amazing
night you’re in for. If you haven’t seen Carl, prepare to be
dazzled by the UK comedy scene’s best kept secret.

slapstick. A very clever mind at work here.” Fringe Review

Josie Long
Sunday 26th February
‘After defeat, re-enchantment is necessary’, said
Lola Olufemi. This thought inspires Josie Long’s brand-new show
of stand-up infused with humanity, compassion and some brief
political rants.
The
triple Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, underdog Fringe hero and
delirious new mother (the first person to have two babies)returns
with a show about the changes wrought by time, passion, moving to
Scotland, and loving the world under – let’s face it – difficult
circumstances.
