Hello

Square Chapel are delighted to be hosting a full day of events on 3rd December, to mark 250 years since the original building was constructed, 30 years since it received Arts Centre status and one year since officially reopening to the public. Square Chapel invites you to their 250th Birthday party in the Atrium Bar from 12 pm, which will continue throughout the day and will feature various local performances, culminating in live DJ sets from 8 pm.

The evening’s event will be a toast to the arts, with a Celebration Concert that will take place in Red Brick Theatre. Doors will from 6:30 pm with a performance time of 7 pm. Square Chapel have chosen to feature a line-up of local talents all of which have a special connection to the venue. One of the best loved classics for children comes to life… literally.

‘The Curious Adventures of Pinocchio’ is the title of Lyngo Theatre’s new show.

Lyngo have adapted this epic tale into a unique retelling where the story leaps off the page and onto the stage. Crickets, cats, foxes and, of course, the world-famous puppet, will spring out of our collection of dusty, old, magic books, while Patrick Lynch from CBeebies pulls all the strings and turns all the pages to bring you the true story of Pinocchio, no lie. Empty Orchestra
Thursday 9th March

Three dancers perform their favourite karaoke hits. As each dancer takes their turn at the mic, the remaining two take to the space, becoming backing dancers, lip-syncing and encouraging each other into the spotlight. Through the revealing act of singing, Empty Orchestra creates a safe space to embrace both the wild, diva-like highs and deep, uncomfortable feelings of cringe inherent to karaoke.

See the pains, pleasures and coping strategies of each dancer unfold as they share their joy, timidity and power. Featuring classics ranging from Dolly Parton’s Jolene to Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence. And yes – you’re allowed to sing along.
